Barnsley Can`t Stop Scoring

Barnsley Can`t Stop Scoring

Robins` improvement on Barnsley is not only evident through the club`s league position. It can also be seen through it`s results.

Being maniacally into statistics I took it upon myself to compare our league results with Mister Mark Robins so far, against those with Sir Simon Davey.

Throughout his tenure at the helm of the club Simon Davey led the club to collect 30 clean sheets from 125 league games giving him a clean sheet percentage of 24%.

So far, Mark Robins is not so far in front, on 25%, with seven clean sheets from his 28 league games in charge.

The real difference can be seen in the club`s scoring record. Of the 125 games Davey took charge of, the Reds failed to score in 48, giving him a Failed To Score percentage of 38.4%.

Mark Robins` record in this department is much better. Under his guidance the club have failed to score in just 4 of their 28 games. Robin`s Failed To Score percentage stands at an excellent 14.3%.

To conclude, it`s no surprise to see these figures when you consider what each manager did before they joined Barnsley as boss. Robins - a striker and Davey - a defensive midfielder. It shows.

It`s worth noting that the last time we were under the guidance of a former striker, and a former Manchester United striker at that, we were promoted through the Play-Offs.

Oops! There I go again with the wishful thinking! I can hear Go West...
