Play-Offs Are Within Reach

According to recent averages, 74 points would give the Reds a very good chance of securing a Championship Play-Off spot this season.

It`s a tall order to ask for 29 points from their remaining 13 games but on recent form anything is possible.

When looking at the run in for the remainder of the season, it gives me confidence because the remaining home games are very winnable. We should definitely be looking to take maximum points from the home games, even against Nottingham Forest who have fallen off the pace of late.

Taking 18 points from the remaining 6 home games would leave us needing 11 points from the final 7 away games to reach the target of 74. Victories over Ipswich Town, Bristol City, Plymouth Argyle and Swansea City are, in my opinion, most likely to yield those points.

We`ll probably come away from West Brom and Newcastle empty handed and maybe with a bit of luck scrape a draw by fighting tooth and nail at Sheffield United.

It`s wishful thinking, not beyond us, but wishful thinking nontheless.
