'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Moore Wants More

In light of Barnsley's recent good form in the league, veteran defender Darren Moore spoke to Barnsley Player about the Reds' needing some consistency.

He told the club's official website: 'We have had a decent week really and long may that continue. I think it has been a good response to a sticky patch and we have put in some good, solid performances, so the results have followed.'

The Reds did endure a 'sticky patch' early on in the year dropping points against Sheffield Wednesday and Reading with some below par performances but have turned it around recently with some excellent results.

Darren Moore, who has won promotion from the Championship on four occasions explained that 'Consistency in this league all comes down to the individual. You have to analyse your own game and what you have to achieve. If you can do that then you will help yourself, your team and your club.'

His comments on Monday to Barnsley's official website are consistent with those he made in an interview with the BBC over a year ago: ''It is about showing that consistently and doing the right things at the right time.' so if anything, he is practicing what he preaches.

But Moore wants even more now from himself and his colleagues: 'The players have performed and set themselves their own personal standards now. It's pointless to drop from those and you have to try to achieve that in every game or even better them.'
