Rodriguez Off The Mark

Rodriguez Off The Mark

Barnsley's latest signing is off the mark already after just three minutes in a Reds shirt.

Jay Rodriguez signed a loan deal on Monday with Barnsley from Premier League Burnley and came off the bench the following night to cap a 4-1 victory for the Reds with a goal in injury time.

The 20 year-old striker has recently made a comeback from an ankle injury and is looking to get games under his belt with the Reds.

Mark Robins told Barnsley's official website: 'Jay will go on to become a top player and we saw a cameo of that on Tuesday.'

According to what Rodriguez has told BBC Radio Sheffield, it wouldn't be surprising to see much more of the talented forward: 'After the injury I need games and this was the club to come to.'
