Barnsley Career:

Anderson de Silva is one of the most technically gifted players ever to pull on the red & white of Barnsley.

The Brazilian initially joined the Reds on loan from Everton at the start of the 2007/2008 campaign but made the move permanent on deadline day of the January transfer window in 2008 for an undisclsoed fee.

It was unfortunate for Anderson when he seriously injured his knee against Norwich at Carrow Road, however the 25 year old completed his rehab work with the Tykes during the 2008 pre-season training.

The Brazilian made his long awaited return to first team action when he started in Barnsley's game away at Southampton. The Tykes drew 0-0 and de Silva was looking his usual self, not shirking a challenge.

On his game, Anderson is Barnsley's best player, with the ability to pick out crucial passes and slow the game down or speed it up.

To date, Anderson has made 81 appearances for the Reds scoring 5 goals.
