Match Abandoned!

Barnsley have had a certain victory wiped out at Home Park by the referee.

The Reds were 4-1 to the good inside 32 minutes against the Pilgrims after Duguid had given Plymouth the lead on 9 minutes.

Daniel Bogdanovic, Adam Hammill, Emil Hallfredsson and Ryan Shotton all hit the back of the net for Barnsley to take Mark Robins into the break 4-1 up.

Heavy rain for three hours prior to the game had blighted the Home Park pitch but without warning, the referee abandoned play after 58 minutes, some twelve minutes before the result would have stood whether the match had been abandoned or not.

Referee, Ward, will hopefully be forthcoming with the reason for his decision in the immediate future.
