Barnsley Career:

Darren was signed by Simon Davey from Derby County in the summer of 2008 on a two year contract. He is a tough tackling no-nonsense central defender who was born in Birmingham but has been capped three times by Jamaica.

Darren had a relatively inconsistent start to his Barnsley career, enduring stick from the mindless minority in the opening few games but like he has at every club, won over the fans with some excellent hard-working displays. He is the squad`s vice captain, deputising for Stephen Foster on the odd occasion.

To date, Darren has made 56 appearances for Barnsley, scoring once in the away victory over Charlton Athletic last season. His cumulative transfer fee amounts to over £2.1m.
