Robins Gutted With Solitary Point

For long periods of the game, Barnsley dominated play in the South Yorkshire derby between themselves and Sheffield United, but ultimately failed to make it pay, with the game ending in a 2-2 draw, which in truth, flattered the visitors.

The first half was fairly even with chances at both ends, but no goals for either side. The game exploded into life just after the restart though when Anderson rocketted a great angled shot into Bunn`s top corner to open the scoring. His goal was cancelled out however some eight minutes later when Luke Steele was adjudged to have fouled Ched Evans in the Barnsley box. Darius Henderson despatched the penalty.

Late in the game, a second Henderson penalty for the Blades cancelled out Bogdanovic`s close range goal which should have sealed the three points for the Reds. Mark Robins told BBC Radio Sheffield: "To only draw a game like that after we've played so well is difficult to take. We played really well. We passed the ball well and controlled the game for large parts."

Barnsley were the better side throughout and Sheffield United barely troubled Steele in goal, with Darren Moore eating up most of their long balls over the top. Robins was reluctant to comment on referee Mark Clattenburg`s performance but did tell BBC Radio Sheffield that "the referee was a bit quick with the whistle." From the Ponty End it looked like the second one was a penalty with Hammill coming across the back of walker but the first, even after inspection on replays on TV looks very dubious, as though Evans leaped to the ground when Steele had the ball in his grasp.
