O'Driscoll Disappointed In Derby Defeat

After a second 1-0 home defeat to Barnsley in successive seasons, Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll was left to rue bad luck as they are leapfrogged by Barnsley in the Championship table.

Speaking after the match to Doncaster Rovers' official website, O'Driscoll was full of praise for his side's performance: 'I'll take the performance every day of the week.' Doncaster were the better team for the majority of the match but O'Driscoll continued: 'We switched off, I suppose, from a corner, when we were really dominating the game.'

Rover's had plenty of chances to take the lead before Adam Hammill's winner in the 74th minute for Barnsley, James Hayter's effort was turned wide early in the first half and Billy Sharp had a good finish correctly ruled out for offisde.

Shiels struck the top of the Barnsley crossbar early in the second half but further efforts from Sharp and Woods failed to force the returning Reds' 'keeper Luke Steele into a save, providing Barnsley with their second and Steele with his first clean sheet of the season.

So, Doncaster slipped to their first home defeat of the season at the hands of Barnsley and Sean O'Driscoll spoke of his disappointment: 'I said at half time that it looked like a game that everybody was enjoying playing in. I'm just disappointed that we didn't get the win that we deserved.'

Yeah, shame about that.
