Robins Pleased With Win

Robins Pleased With Win

Barnsley's manager Mark Robins spoke of his delight with another win in the league, courtesy of a 1-0 victory at the Keepmoat Stadium over local rivals Doncaster Rovers.

Adam Hammill struck with fifteen minutes left in the match to snatch all three points after the game had looked like a stalemate.

Speaking to the club's official website, Robins said: 'I do not think we played particularly well today so it was good to get all three points.' Robins' comments certainly evoke thoughts of Barnsley in games past when they have played particularly well and not come away with anything at all so it is definitely nice for the boot to be on the other foot for a change.

Robins went on to say: 'I think we settled down after the goal but there was some anxiety in our play before that.' The Reds' boss was referring to the way that Barnsley looked like a different team after Hammill had given them a late lead. They started to attack Doncaster and looked much more composed on the ball than they did in the opening 70 minutes.

Doncaster's home support was outsung by a rowdy 3000 Barnsley fans who, Robins hailed as 'absolutely fantastic.'
