QPR 5 Barnsley 2

QPR slammed five goals past a shambolic Barnsley defence leaving the Tykes in the drop zone and carrying the worst goal difference in the league.

In a first half to forget, the Reds threw the game away conceding two goals in the opening fifteen minutes and then slipping further behind when Buzsaky doubled his tally after Leigertwood had given QPR the lead.

The fightback looked well and truly on after the first ten minutes of the second half, with Iain Hume floating a free kick over for Stephen Foster to rise above everyone and power a header home.

Andy Gray then reduced QPR's lead back to one goal when he pounced to score the rebound from his own saved penalty, Adam Hammill the provider, being brought down in the box by Stewart.

However it wasn't to be and QPR killed off the game with 23 minutes to play through Ben Watson's tap-in, before Simpson completed the rout on 79 minutes with a sloppy goal from Buzsaky's corner.

All in all it was a day to forget for Barnsley, who played some good football but were undone all too easily at the back.

It won't get any easier for them either, with league leaders West Bromwich Albion the visitors to Oakwell on Tuesday night.

A really good game of football - There's no shame in falling behind to two very good goals. At the end of the day everything seemed to click for us today, and your defenders didn't get the time they needed to bed in. You'll be good enough at home I think, there was never a three goal margin in that game and I wouldn't have complained if we'd have won it by the odd goal - it was that kind of game!
