Leicester City vs Barnsley: Reds Team News

Emil Hallfredsson looks set to make his Barnsley debut at the Walkers Stadium against Leicester City after receiving international clearance this afternoon.

The Icelandic midfielder could line up in the midfield alongside Anderson Da Silva. In a pre-match press conference, Barnsley manager Simon Davey told the club's official website: 'You'd swap Emil Hallfredsson for Jacob [Butterfield].'

Rob Kozluk is available for selection again after serving his one match suspension for his sending off against Coventry City for two bookable offences and could regain his place at left back from Luke Potter.

Davey was quick however to acknowledge the contribution of both Jacob Butterfield and Luke Potter who have come into the side at a time when he wouldn't have wanted them to, to fill in for players out with injuries, suspension or without international clearance. He praised them both saying: 'Barring injuries, suspensions and clearance they wouldn't have been playing but you've got to pat them on the back for what they've done.'

Darren Moore is also expected to start in defence again despite continually having injections to kill pain in his foot and not having trained since August 7th.

After starting the match against Preston North End on Tuesday night, Iain Hume remains in contention to play against his former club Leicester City but the diminuitive hit man insists that he will not celebrate if he scores on Saturday. He told barnsleyfc.co.uk: 'I'm a bit apprehensive about celebrating on Saturday. I don't think I will. I apologise to Barnsley fans.'

Speaking about his relationship with the Foxes faithful he continued: 'Don't get me wrong it would mean the world to me but I have a respect for the Leicester fans. I had a very good bond with them when I was there.'

Hume is certain to receive a heart warming reception from the Leicester City fans should his name be called out over the P.A. system on Saturday but even if he doesn't make an appearance in the game, he will be surrounded by well wishers in all four sides of the ground.

Barnsley will however be without the services of Maltese international striker Daniel Bogdanovic who has returned to Malta due to a family illness.
