Hallfredsson Signs

Hallfredsson Signs

Barnsley have confirmed the signing of Icelandic international midfielder Emil Hallfredsson on a season long loan from Italian Serie A side Reggina Calcio.

No stranger to England from his time at Spurs, the 25 year old left sided midfielder should have international clearance in time to be involved at Oakwell against Preston North End on Tuesday night.

Hallfredsson was introduced to the Oakwell crowd before the game against Coventry City, having flown to Oakwell to complete the deal after playing 90 minutes in Reykjavic for his country in their 1-1 draw against Slovakia on Wednesday night.

He could be named in the starting line up, as Simon Davey has hinted that a few of the first team should be looking over their shoulder after the performance against Coventry City.
