'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Reds Net Preece

Barnsley Football Club have announced that David Preece is set to sign a one year deal at Oakwell.

The 32 year-old goalkeeper has impressed in pre-season friendlies recently and has the task now of wrestling the number one jersey from young shot stopper Luke Steele.

Simon Davey told the club's official website: 'David has done very well training with us and has all the attributes needed to be a quality keeper in the Championship.'

Preece has spent four years in Denmark with Silkeborg and OB and has also played for Aberdeen and Darlington.
