'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tykes Make First New Signing

Onome Sodje, a 20 year old striker has signed for Barnsley Football Club.

The striker has joined the club on a one year contract from York City and goes in to Simon Davey's youth development plans along with fellow youngsters Jamil Adam and Reuben Noble-Lazarus.

Davey described Sodje to the club's official website as being 'lightning quick with an eye for goal' and having 'a lot of potential and someone we feel can improve and develop here at Oakwell.'

The news will certainly not be frightening centre backs throughout the division, nor will it be prompting the Barnsley fans to get off the fence and renew their season tickets. What we need is someone who is already developed and has a proven track record for hitting the back of the net on a regular basis.
