New Deal For Coulo
Barnsley have offered young striker Michael Coulson a one year extension to his current deal at Oakwell, despite him making just a handful of appearances thanks to two cruciate ligament injuries.
The striker who turned 21 last month was brought in by Andy Ritchie in the summer of 2006 from Scarborough after a successful season as a teenager netting 9 goals in 41 appearances.
Coulson has scored twice for the reds, both times in the third round of the F.A. Cup, but has struggled to break into Davey's plans on a regular basis after falling victim to two terrible injuries in training. He had begun to show promise after making several appearances as a substitute in the latter half of the 2007/2008, not least with his cameo role against Chelsea at Oakwell in the F.A. Cup.
Coulo is hoping to be back in a Barnsley shirt in pre-season and available for selection on the first day of the new season in August.
Let's hope he can make a full and permanent recovery and help bolster the Reds' attacking options next year.
