Big Stan Back At Oakwell

Many fans were disappointed to see him leave but on Saturday, July 11th, Istvan Ferenczi could well be lining up on the pitch at Oakwell, this time for NBII champions Ferencvaros.

It will be a warm welcome for 'Big Stan' should he return, who made a vital contribution to Barnsley's survival cause at the end of the 2006/2007 season after signing on deadline day in the January transfer window. He left Barnsley in the summer of 2008 after another season of championship survival and an appearance at Wembley in the F.A. Cup Semi Final defeat to Cardiff City.

Ferencvaros have already secured the top spot in the Hungarian second division with five games remaining and Ferenczi has scored no less the 29 goals to help them to that title, so whoever lines up between the sticks for Barnsley on July 11th can expect to have a busy afternoon.

Yeah he certainly was, wish he was still with us! Maybe the euphoria of an oakwell return will spur him to re sign for us!
