'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Home Away From Home

As the Tykes travel to Plymouth today to prepare for their massive clash with the Pilgrims at Home Park, Simon Davey's men can take encouragement from their record at the venue.

Barnsley fans will remember the excellent 4-2 victory in their first season back in the Championship some two years ago, courtesy of goals from Lewin Nyatanga, Istvan Ferenczi and a couple of scorching efforts from Martin Devaney.

In the last four meetings at Home Park, Barnsley have taken as many points back to Oakwell with them, so a result on Sunday is definitely not out of the question. A further point would be most welcome indeed, as it would ensure that Barnsley beat the drop for the third season running and Norwich City would join Charlton Athletic and Southampton in League 1 next season.

Plymouth Argyle however, despite having already ensured their own safety in the division, will want to end their season with a bang in front of the home crowd, so the Tykes will certainly not have an easy time in their last gasp attempt to secure their own status.
