Barnsley 2 QPR 1: Davey Post-match reaction

Barnsley manager Simon Davey spoke to the press following his side's fine 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers at Oakwell today.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Davey said:

'I thought it was an entertaining game today and we thoroughly deserved to win it. There was only one team in it in the second half and we were always on the front foot. We went in and won every challenge, which was good to see.'

Barnsley's second half display went unrewarded but the Reds did well and kept Rangers under pressure:

'They couldn't handle the pace of our game at times and it was nice to put the performance against Chalrton to bed. It's always ncie to perform well but the three points are the most important thing. We have picked up seven points from nine and now have a big game on Tuesday,'

Speaking about an interesting refereeing performance, Davey said:

'We were a little fortunate that the two decisions didn't cost us and I think I would be more upset if we'd have drawn the game 2-2 or even lost it.'

Barnsley's performance has set them up for a tough encounter away to Cardiff on Tuesday, but the attacking force appears to fear no one:

'Our front six were brilliant today and I couldn't fault their work rate. Our midfield is marvellous, I would back them against any team in the Championship. On their day they're as good as any in this league.'
