Ward deal off

Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward will not be joining the Reds after the two parties failed to agree personal terms this morning.

It seemed the Reds almost had the deal in the bag after agreeing a 400,000 deal with the Spireites.

But the Tykes have failed to agree personal terms with the 22-year-old and will now pursue other targets.

Wonder how much he wanted? It's got to be wage demands hasn't it?
will it ever happen
thats a shame....he would have done well for you......but you also dont need a greedy person on your books either...

What is it with these strikers that we persue? Keigan Parker did exactly the same! I reckon we should go for Windass again, he's probably only got 2 years left to play but he's probably got plenty more goals in him.
yorkie_tyke
or not....just seen he's joined oldham on loan
yorkie_tyke
haha yeah. we don't want an O.A.P, mate.
mattyg
Do you know how much he was demanding? too greedy cus he won't get too many more offers.
hulmey
well, Jamal Campbell-Ryce was offered a similar deal. and he earned his reward. which is fair. so good on BFC for holding out and not allowing the greedy little swine any more. he'd probably wanted about 5k a week or summat the greedy pig.
mattyg
yeh, hes only 22 at the end of the day. He should of accpeted and worked his way up, cus he can score goals in league two doesn't mean he can do it in the championship. Barnsley gonna mek another offer you think?
hulmey
no,Davey says he's moved on to other targets. i bet we're looking abroad now. It was the end of January two years ago that he brought in Istvan Ferenczi and Peter Rajczi from Hungary, so i think he'll go for another foreign target man.
mattyg
yeah, foreigners seem to be the cheapest option although it would be nice to see another english player in the squad. Problem is we had mostto and christensen who were no good. Would it be risky to go foreign again?
yorkie_tyke
Anything's better than Odejayi. We need to sign an animal from Poland, or a clever strker from the Eredivisie.
