Davey pleased with win and praises supporters

Barnsley manager Simon Davey gave the post-match press conference his thoughts on how his side beat Burnley on Boxing Day.

Simon said: "It was a great win for us, this is a tough place to come and Burnley are a very good side on a good run, they are undefeated in fourteen home games but we have come here and won the game. It`s a been a great start to Christmas for us.

"We already had a double over Doncaster this season so to get another one is great for us. We have come here against a very good side and beat them two-nil and I thought it was thoroughly deserved.

"We sometimes dominate games and don`t take our chances but today we took the ones we created and put them away. It is a great result and all credit goes to my players. There is a great belief in the dressing room."

Despite the globe`s current economic climate and it being Christmas, several thousand Barnsley fans still managed to make the one hundred-mile round trip and Davey was delighted with the supporter`s backing of his team:

"Our supporters were magnificent today, a lot of them made the trip and were singing all the way through the game. We managed to get a great win for them."
