'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Reds legend backs Barnsley

Oakwell hero Craig Hignett insists the Reds have nothing to fear this season after picking out many positives from Saturday's defeat to promotion favourites Birmingham City.

'Higgy' told the Club's official website :

'It's difficult to say how the next few months will go but there were enough signs at Birmingham to be really optimistic. They have to get a win from anywhere at the moment just to get them off and running.'

Hignett, who has fond memories of a fantastic 4-0 play-off victory over Birmingham with the Reds back in 2000, believes Barnsley will put it right this weekend.

'This weekend's game against Derby County is massive and from what i saw on Saturday, Barnsley will take some catching if they can just get that first goal and put their noses in front'.

Paul Jewell's men are also in search of their first win of the season, as Saturday gears up to be a massive encounter.

I hope that Craig Hignett is correct and that you can avoid the drop.
