Barnsley boss in Old Trafford link

Things just get more remarkable down at Oakwell with Simon Davey being linked with a possible move to replace Carlos Queiroz as Sir Alex Ferguson`s assistant.

The Sunday Times added the Barnsley boss to a list of possible candidates who may be able to replace Queiroz who is set to take over the Portuguese national side.

Despite being up against the odds, Davey has steered his Barnsley side to Championship safety two seasons in a row along with knocking both giants Liverpool and Chelsea out of the FA Cup last season.

Other names that have been thrown into the hat as possible replacements for Queiroz are Brian McClair, Blackpool`s Simon Grayson and Swansea City`s Roberto Martinez.
