Tykes Transfer Latest: 'No truth` in Akinbiyi move

Burnley manager Owen Coyle has claimed that there is 'no truth` in Barnsley`s apparent quest to land striker Ade Akinbiyi.

The tykes are in need of a goalscorer to boost their Championship status claim, and it seems that Akinbiyi fits the bill.

However, Coyle told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph:

"There's no truth in that"

Akinbiyi is the cousin of current Barnsley striker Kayode Odejayi, it seems the two could make a powerful pairing up front. But Coyle continued:

"The players we've got left are the ones we want to keep"

The thirty-three year old has bagged twelve goals in sixty-four appearances for the Clarets since rejoining them eighteen months ago from Sheff Utd.

Had the odd good season during his career, he's been transferred for some silly money at times.
