Ferenczi to leave Oakwell

Ferenczi to leave Oakwell

Simon Davey will allow five Barnsley players to leave in close season.

Kim Christensen, Andy Johnson, Paul Reid, Sam Togwell and Istvan Ferenczi have all been transfer listed by Simon Davey.

Ferenczi appeared to have been suffering from 'second season syndrome` after helping to fire the reds to safety last season. Strikers are judged by scoring goals and the Hungarian only managed to bag 5 this season.

Istvan joined the reds in January 2007 from MTK Hungaria for £250,000 along with his team mate Peter Rajczi on loan.

Perhaps the only other surprise of Davey`s transfer plans is to release Sam Togwell. 'Togs` was a 2006 summer signing of Andy Ritchie from Crystal Palace - the 23 year old has clocked up 61 appearances and bagged two goals.

Kim Christensen may not have been given a chance, so something must have gone on behind the scenes at Barnsley. However, anyone who went to see the reserves at all must know that he isn`t the greatest of football players to say the least!

Not sure what he was up to this season, was class to help keep you up last season and missed a hatful of open goals when we travelled to Oakwell.
