With Barnsley`s recent dip in form and inevitable slide down the Championship table, the media have questioned Simon Davey over whether his side are fully focused on the league and aren`t distracted by the glamour and glory of the F.A. Cup.
Although the red`s boss has denied that his side`s league form is being affected by their current Cup run, one league win in eight suggests otherwise.
If we look at what happened when the players returned to the field after half-time at Oakwell on Saturday against Sheffield United. Can`t remember? Well, the club`s entertainment chief decided it would be great to play "que sera, sera" over the sound system, fair enough it got the crowd going but for the wrong reasons.
The players surely must have been put off by the song and yet who could blame them? Some of the foreign boys that Simon Davey brought in probably didn`t even dream that they would be playing at Wembley this season. Barnsley went on to lose the match 1-0.
Although blaming a song at half time seems petty, all the reasons banded about on the television and in the newspapers for the return of Luke Steele included his 'Wembley dreams` being dashed and not that it is an honour to play for Barnsley, which definitely isn`t fair on the young lad.
Admittedly, it is a phenomenal achievement that the Tykes have come this far in the cup, including two giant killings on the way and a considerable amount of revenue added into the bargain, but just how costly would it be if Barnsley went down?
Let`s just hope that the reds can bag some points sooner rather than later, knock Cardiff out of the semis and then lift the infamous trophy at Wembley in May.
