'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tykes v Blades - View from t'Lane

What have you made of the Blade`s season so far?

Disappointing! Nobody could argue that we have one of the best squads on paper but too many players underperforming and not prepared to put a foot in. Playing nice passing football won't get you out of the Championship and we weren't good enough to play that style anyway.

Were the club right to sack Brian Robson at that time?

Absolutely. He was the one the blades fans didn't want in the first place. Too different to Warnock! If he hadn't gone United would have lost at least ten thousand season tickets next year and I really think he'd have taken us down.

Who has been your most consistent performer?

Matt Killgallon. Started off very dodgy and cost us a few goals but has been solid recently and gets a few goals himself. Worth every penny.

Who has been the most overrated performer?

I could name a few! Beattie often looks ineffective but we'd be lost without his goals. Speed supposed to be 'Mr Cool` but often gives the ball away. Sharp with a lack of goals but he works his socks off every game. But I'll go for Paddy Kenny. Overrated by everybody. A goalkeeper that can't catch a single cross and makes stupid mistake after stupid mistake.

Is there still time to sneak the play-offs?

Realistically not, its just too late. I`m more worried bout getting the next 3 points to guarantee safety and have a god finish to set ourselves up for next year.

What do you make of Barnsley`s season so far?

They've improved since last year but they need to get their heads back on the league because of the F.A. Cup. They need to ensure survival because every team down there are picking points up all of a sudden.

Are you aware of the threats Barnsley may pose?

Not hugely. The most obvious threat is Brian Howard although i thought he was disappointing in the game at Bramall Lane. Devaney appears a threat, he can put in a decent cross that will in no doubt cause problems for Kenny!

Prediction for today?

1 - 1. Barnsley will start poorly so we go in the lead and Barnsley will come back after a 'good talking to` at half time!

With thanks to Gill Morton for her interview.

Good Luck to both teams as we hope for a fair and exciting clash at Oakwell today.
