Liverpool Kop it...again!

Reds captain Brian Howard scored a last gasp winner at the Kop end of Anfield to see Barnsley into the hat for the quarter finals of the FA Cup.
The reds have been on a roller coaster ride up and down the leagues since they last played Liverpool at Anfield over ten years ago, but Simon Davey`s men proved that on their day, they can beat anyone.
Backed by around 6,000 away fans, whilst 3,500 watched on a big screen back at Oakwell, the Tykes put on an outstanding display, battling for every header, tackle and second ball throughout the whole 90 minutes.

It was the home side who took the lead just after the half hour mark; Ryan Babel did well down the left-hand side before cutting the ball back to fellow Dutchman, Dirk Kuyt, who then tucked the ball home from close-range. To many it appeared the floodgates had opened, but the Tykes held firm for the remainder of the half.

Just before the hour mark history was in the making, as Martin Devaney swung in a splendid cross which met the head of Stephen Foster, who powered home from just outside the six-yard box.

Tykes new-boy Luke Steele couldn`t have dreamed of a better debut, pulling off three world class saves throughout the match, but it was reds captain Brian Howard who stole the show. After worming his way to the edge of the area, Howard hit a marvellous strike into Itanje`s bottom left corner, sending Barnsley into the quarter final and the fans into raptures.
